B-1B Bombers Fly over Korea in Joint Drill with S. Korean Fighters

Two B1-B United States bombers flew over the Korean Peninsula in a joint drill with South Korean fighters on Sunday following North Korea’s missile provocation.
The South Korean Air Force said that a pair of B1-B Lancer bombers carried out the joint drill over the East Sea and Gangwon Province in response to the North’s recent ballistic missile launch.
The B-1B has a maximum speed of Mach one-point-two and is capable of carrying 61 tons of bombs. It is dubbed the "swan of death" for its destructive power. The bombers can reach the Korean Peninsula in two hours from Andersen Air Force Base in Guam.
The Lancers conducted a similar joint drill with South Korean F15-K fighters last month.
